Review: Therizinosaurus (Jurassic World Hammond Collection, by Mattel)

Only two years after it showed up in Jurassic World Dominion, the fan favorite Therizinosaurus finally joined Mattel’s Hammond Collection line of highly articulated action figures last year. I’ll be straight to the point in saying that this is easily one of my top favorites in the line, and I think one of the best in terms of articulation, and screen likeness.

Review: Therizinosaurus (Jurassic World Dino-Trackers, Captivz Build N’ Battle Dinos by ToyMonster)

Before we begin the review, I would like to thank the generous folks over at ToyMonster, for sending me this figure to share on the blog.

Jurassic World: Dominion may have been a bloated mess of a film and a disappointing end to the Jurassic World trilogy but it’s hard to deny that it had its moments.

Review: Therizinosaurus (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd.)

4.6 (42 votes)

Biggest by far of all known maniraptorans, bearer of the longest claws of any known animal, and just downright rocambolesque to the human eye, Therizinosaurus is one truly remarkable dinosaur. It’s been made into a toy by many of the major companies, including Safari Ltd.

Review: Prehistoric Tube C (CollectA)

4.3 (27 votes)

Since they first started producing tube sets back in 2015, CollectA has covered a pretty decent variety of prehistoric life, wild animals, sea creatures, and farm stock. In 2021, they went back to the beginning with a third dinosaur (mostly) set consisting of ten figures, all based on previously released toys.

Review: Jurassic World Dominion Minis part 2 (Jurassic World by Mattel)

4.1 (17 votes)

Well, I’ve shown you the worst of this line, let’s waste no time and get straight on to the best of them!

Starting off the top half is everyone’s favourite three horned herbivore Triceratops. This features one of the best poses of the lot (something I haven’t talked at length about as most the figures are in a generic standing pose), an aggressive fight pose, all the better when you have two to joust with.

Review: Therizinosaurus (Jurassic World: Dominion, Sound Slashin’ by Mattel)

The Mattel Therizinosaurus we’re looking at today is among the most highly anticipated toys of the Jurassic World: Dominion line, and it makes sense. Although we’ve only seen fleeting glimpses of it, we know the herbivorous theropod will have a starring role in Jurassic World: Dominion.

One issue that will always plague any creative outlet is this: plagiarism. Many will copy the best for a quick and easy way to get sales or attention. When it’s mentioned here, usually this is in referenced to Geoworld, and they are certainly guilty of this.

Review: Therizinosaurus (2018 Repaint)(Conquering the Earth by Schleich)

Review and photos by ‘Resurrection of the dinosaurs,’ edited by Suspsy. As I wrote a review about a repainted figure in my last review for the DTB, I figured I would finish reviewing repainted figures instead of skipping to other ones. So here I am with the Schleich ‘Conquering the Earth’ 2018 repainted Therizinosaurus.

Review: Therizinosaurus (Dinosaur King by Sega Toys)

Once again, I am looking into what can happen when a property becomes extremely popular: merchandising. Such is the case for the Dinosaur King franchise. After the success of the arcade game, a manga series and anime were commissioned and, as a result, a series of figure lines were made, from small 2” lines, arcade exclusives and an articulated line.

Review: Dinosaurs Of Japan (Capsule Q Museum by Kaiyodo)

For most of the field’s history, the bulk of paleontological research has occurred in North America, a fact reflected in the average dinosaur shelf lineup. There’s certainly no shortage of figures representing classics like Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus, while more obscure species from elsewhere in the world languish in the shadows.
